Garay revealed in October that he came close to moving to Manchester United in the summer until new manager David Moyes pulled the plug on the deal.

Moyes wanted to assess the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Jonny Evans before adding another centre-back to his ranks.
The former Everton manager has since decided that the club are in desperate need of another centre-back and has identified Garay as the man he wants to address his side's defensive problems.
Former Real Madrid centre-back Garay, who has been capped 18 times by Argentina, is said to be available for as little as £8million as his contract is due to expire in the summer of 2015.
